bonvyer is designed with privacy as a core principle. We collect the minimum data necessary to operate the service safely.

1. What We Collect

When you create a profile on bonvyer, we collect:

Gender and age (for matching and age verification)
IP address (for security, ban enforcement, and approximate country detection)
A randomly generated user ID stored in your browser's local storage

We do not collect:

Your name, email address, or phone number
Precise location data
Payment information
Social media profiles

2. Video & Chat Sessions

bonvyer does not record or store your video or audio streams. All video chat is peer-to-peer (WebRTC) and does not pass through our servers.

However, as part of our automated moderation system, periodic screenshots of camera feeds may be captured during active sessions. These are stored temporarily for moderation review. When you submit a report, a screenshot is captured and stored as evidence.

3. How We Use Your Data

To match you with other users based on your preferences
To enforce bans and prevent abuse
To detect your approximate country via IP address for matching
To operate our automated moderation system

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

We may share data with authorities if required by law — particularly in cases involving illegal content such as CSAM.

5. Data Retention

User profiles are retained until deleted or until a ban expires
Moderation screenshots are stored for up to 30 days
Report evidence screenshots are stored for up to 90 days
IP addresses are stored for security purposes

If you are located in the European Union, you have the right to:

Access the data we hold about you
Request deletion of your data
Object to processing of your data
Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

7. Cookies & Local Storage

Bonvyer uses browser local storage (not cookies) to store your user ID and preferences. This data stays on your device and is not transmitted to our servers except when needed to authenticate your session.

8. Security

We implement appropriate technical measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure database access, and rate limiting on our APIs.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page.
